I just got back from a test ride and I finally have the Q-jet on my convertible running the way its supposed to. I'd like to thank Ken, Cliff and Jim for being so willing to share their experience and offer guidance to me while i worked with this carb to solve the idle fuel problem i'd been having.
Ken, sorry but I have no video, i was too busy grinning ear to ear when i stomped on it. repeatedly. It drives really well, pulls 17 inches at idle, no drip at the primaries and when you stomp on it it rears back and goes like it should. I pulled the idle tubes and dunked the main body in the ultra sonic cleaner at work after you worked with me. Then i talked to JIm about how he would recommend the carb be set up for the heads and cam he's putting together for me. Cliff supplied more expertise and the new idle tubes and one of his accelerator pumps. I spent a few hours screwing it all together this morning and you could tell right away when it started that it was way better than it ever was. :TU: for everyone for being so willing to share their time and expertise!!
Good to hear Tom. Sounds like your ready for some parts, which is good, the roller cam came in last week. I will be in touch. JW
