I have a question about the buick 215 C.I. engine. How much horsepower(rated or estimated) and torque(rated or estimated) did the 215 have? Just a little curious about it. If you have any info. about the 215, it would help. Thanks.
I just did a quick search and found that in 1962, the Buick Skylark was 190 hp. Strangely, the page I found it on has a picture I took of my mom's convert about 5 or 6 years ago! http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/buick-skylark/buick-skylark-history.shtml Oldsmobile had a turbo'd version of the motor that put out 215 horsepower, if I remember correctly.
Introduced in 1961, this aluminum engine was rated at 155hp and weighed just 318 pounds. In 1966 Rover bought the blueprints and tooling from Buick and have made the engine in England for the past 30 some years. Displacement has grown through the years from 215 to the current 288 ci. Coincidentally to your question, when the new Land Rover hits the U.S. market next year, it will be with an entirely new powerplant, signalling the end of production of the Buick engine.
