    Dave,
First, thank your Own Personal Savior for protecting you. Second, I can't add anything to what's already been said here except LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE!! Just think of all the things you'll be able to do with the NEXT one!!

Guys, since he started this thread three years ago, he's gotten two '72 Skylarks, one apparently close to hitting the streets according to his profile.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Its been a while since I started this post being as I was 19 then and will be 23 next month. Ive been doing fine. For an update I finally got enough settlement to pay off all of my medical bills and 3,000 dollars to replace my car....with junk ones lol. I do have a few more cars since then although they are fairly rough, well junk in most peoples point of view. I work full time at a transmission shop and attend college full time at night and should graduate this year. Hopefully after that I plan to get a better paying job and find a nicer shell or nice driver to work with. Just built a 40x60 shop with living qaurters. I attend the GS nats every year although the walking tends to get to me. Thanks to everyone on the board for all the help and for being so incredibly nice.

jsevans12 I know john I went to his house a couple of years ago. I pass his house every day on the way to school and have a hard time watching the road trying to see what car is parked out front that day lol.

Joe the donations wont be necessary but thank you for offering. I wouldnt have taken them 3 years ago either, money was very tight and I had to do without sometimes but I have faith in god and an excellent family. It is nice to know their are people outside of my family I can turn too. Id still take a cheap car though lol.

    Thanks again everyone.

Excuse my ignorance Dave, but why the heck would you have to cover your own medical expenses? And only $3000 for the car payout???

Not every country is taking the same care of their people like we are used to, but now they have a smart president:

Dude, if some one smashed my car like that, they better hope that they killed me. Otherwise, I'm going to come lookin for them. I know that sounds awfull cruel, but I've spent many many hours, days, weeks, and months working on it. It's sentimental value is immeasurable.

Anyway, glad you were OK. Good luck with school and all. I miss my old mechanics classes at the community college.

Because I had just lost my health insurance the month before. Also I only had liability comprehensive on the car. I maxed out both mine and the guy that hit me's insurance they each paid 10k. Which left me with 19k in leftover medical bills. They would only pay me half of what the car was worth probably because they thought they could walk all over a 19 yr. old I argued with them awhile but it did no good. My advice to everyone is Full coverage insurance. I was too young to have collector car insurance.
