In the latest HMM , there is a photo of Old Reliable being towed by a 1962 Chevy wagon. Notice the price of gas at the Gulf station. 29.9 Me and Dave H :TU: remember the days when you could buy 2.00 worth of gas for a whole weekend of trips to the drive inn and also street racing on the way home.

You were born pre-gas. You must be thinking about a Stanley Steamer.

True, true, true. I lived in Philadelphia area back when the Old Reliable was running so we saw both this 62 bubble top Bel Air and the 63 A/FX car run. Great tracks within an hour from there at York in Pa, , and Atco and Vineland in South Jersey..

For $5, you could fill up the tank, go see a movie, even buy cokes and popcorn, and still have enough for sundaes or milk shakes at Hojo's afterwards. That's what a date was all about back then.

Since we're back on the subject of the good old days, here's another of my old rides. This one was in 1966-1967 that I bought as you see it for $500. 389, four barrel 3 speed stick. I put in a Hurst, and had a tripower for it, but sold it when a better one came along (Honduras maroon/white top 61 Catalina convt, also a 3 speed stick with a 389 4 barrel...also $500).

Now that is a nice Poncho. I still like the big block bubble top cars. Just might have to have one someday.
