The making of a 70 GS 455 Convert

    It is always better to start on one that is in better shape however $4000 vs $25K all up front is the difference.!!:eek2:

    It this thread I have started I thought it would be different to see what it takes from start to finish to complete this car

    Goal: NICE driver 500hp pump gas automatic trans and posi
    The car is a semirusty numbers matching convert I bought from ebay. It needs a frame to start so thats where I had to begin.

    Here is the car as I returned from Colorado to get it. :eek2:

    After lots of emails and messin around I finally got the frame rail sections from a convert and cut them off.

    Next comes the HT parts car I bought for the frame. Its alot better than big rust flakes falling out of it :eek2:

    Keep us posted, I picked up a 70 Skylark Custom for 2200 that I want to clone to a GS as I restore it!

    Mike,judging from the pic of the vert and me being there in person,does it ever stop raining there?:Do No: :grin:

    I just find that too funny :laugh: !!!!

    I brought that car home on 04-19-2003 and it was raining then but we went for awhile till it started raining again you must have brought it with you!!:Brow:

    Well here is a shot of the new frame to be waiting to be stripped the rest of the way so I can get it sandblasted..........

    I found it will need some repair in the body bushing holes (no sweat) and one place at the rear where the bracket for the bumper held dirt and moisture long enough to rust a hole in it.
