Aside from the god awful food offered by the venue. (*note to self...bring a grill next year). In any case, everyone was cool, there were some great cars, awesome vendors (where was poston?), and the show seemed to run pretty smooth for a first time event. The venue was clean and adequately sized I thought. A special thanks to Beth, who hooked me up with all my membership kit info right there at the show. I had mailed my info in about 3 weeks ago, and just simply inquired to her at the show if things were running late because of the event, and she whipped up all my membership stuff on the spot !! What a gal I met some great folks, learned a few things, and will be back next year for sure. Thanks BPG.
Book Norwalk next year........Quaker City is not the ideal track (or facilities) for a National event. Peace WildBill
It would be awesome if we could get Norwalk for next year. I don't think there's a finer track. But.... Norwalk is tough to get, and I bet it would cost at least 4 times what Quaker did... and that is IF you could even get it. It's probably booked out for years on the "good weekends". I would also think that next years event would/should be held in another part of the country to be fair with all the members. Maybe somewhere down south, or out west? (Allthough personally I would love for it to be in Ohio every year) p
"Allthough personally I would love for it to be in Ohio every year) p " me too. I couldn't make it out west, no way.
Hi Eric, did you find the parts you were looking for?? i will be heading to syracuse towards the end of the week. i will be bring the hood up for you. i will email you before then and let you know, what day ,and if your lucky,we might be going to niagra falls,so,i might be able to bring it right to you. Michael
Hi Michael, Nah....couldn't find much of anything really. There were only a few tarps down, and it was mostly big block and/or 68-72 stuff. i did see some 67 bumpers and inner fender wells from one party, but mine are in better shape so I passed. I saw some lucky devils score about 4, yes thats right..FOUR 1967 special/GS grills in one shot though. I don't even wanna know what they paid. Ugh. I was going to email you and make sure we are still on for the hood. Sweet. Can't wait. !!
"The Nats were great ! " Don't remind me......:ball: Hope it's in Ohio next year, there's no way we're missing it next year.........we shoulda went.ou:
This place was great and "only" a six hour drive having the cruse set at 79 MPH  . Glad to be able to put faces to the names that are here. It was great to make a few new friends also. I will be going again almost whever it is next year.........................,but it would not hurt my feelings to have it in Columbus,OH............
This track is not a Norwalk but not many tracks are. I think this track worked out very well and still had lots of empty space even with the turnout they had. Track workers were helpful and friendly and did an excellent job of taking care of the track. Ask the GSM guys how there 60' times were, these cars are on the edge of blowing the tires off on every pass at any track and was very fun to watch them run. Jeff Hart running a 9.92 was a highlight of my trip. I did have some traction problems but was not the tracks fault, my tires have been worn out for the last month and still hooked on most passes. I would be happy to come back to this track for this event next year.
Sorry I did not get to meet you.... I stopped by the local "Buffalo" Buick show on my way home Sunday and I am so glad that I went to the BPG Nats instead..:TU: Not a very good turn out at the Buffalo show this year.. Caravan for sure next year... I was a little uncomfortable driving down with no support behind me....
WildBill, Yes Norwalk would be nice! Quaker was Real good to us, and Bill and Roberta have exclusive Buick rights to Norwalk, they will not open there track to any other Buick events as long as Band R have their Gig at Norwalk. The BPG is proud to Support Buick Raceday at Norwalk, Bill and Roberta do a Fine job with there event! Bruce
I ran .01 off my best time ever on Sunday, despite the uphill 2nd half of the track and the 1200' elevaton. The facilities were spacious, the surrounding area was complete with everything we needed. I enjoyed it and will be happy to support Quaker City next year.
if the people at Quaker did a good job, people don't have a problem with the track and they want this event back next year then reward them with a return visit next year. Patton
Don't remind me.........that show really sucked........I sooooooooo wish I would have went to Salem instead. ou:
Adam, I feel your pain, but we had a blast buddy! thanks for your help, your a fine young man. Let's do it again next year. Bruce
THANKYOU!! Thanks to everyone who set up such an awesome event!!:TU: Thanks to all who came!!:TU: The first BPG NATS will be an event I will always remember!! HOWEVER, I have a request. I want the Nationals up in Mass. next year, so I can lay some rubber in JOHNNO's hometown!!:Brow: :3gears:
