Hey good on them, I am all in favour of the new 21st century USA muscle car era. It's more interesting now at Chrysler, GM and Ford dealerships than it has been for decades. And I do not like many of the cars. I just love the fact they are doing it.

Having said that, drove a Charger V8 in the Pacific Northwest on vacation last year and it was superb.

No chance Buick would ever bring back the Wildcat into this revived market, I guess. Just as well. I prolly wouldn't like it to look at.

Dodge has used the Demon name before. I think it was on the Dodge version of the Plymouth Duster, built on the Valiant platform.

My older brother has a Demon drag car. The church is the reason they got rid of the name the first time in the 70s.....not nearly as conservative a world now. I'll post a pic when I get to work and my computer here in a bit.

If I were Dodge I'd be praying ( get it ) for some controversial back n forth with church folk . Free advertising , would probably drive sales up 10-20% . Yep , Dodge demon - '71 and went for a couple years . Same as duster , 340 - simple , balanced package , fast .

I took a ride in a neighbors Demon that was supposedly born as some sort of factory backed drag car in its day. Neat car, that little 340 would wind out RIGHT NOW.

I think the new Demon is pretty sweet. Is it pretty much one big marketing ploy? Of course! But is it a pretty cool and pretty darn fast marketing ploy? Yep! If I had bookoo expendable income laying around, I'd go pick one up. A legit 9 second street car with a factory backed warranty (that will cover breakage on the drag strip even!) is too cool for school in my book. Sure, if youve got the bones to buy one you'd have the bones to fix it when it broke, but isnt it just nice to drop it off and let them fix it on their dime!

That said...all the bells and whistles aside, it's a drag car. Transbrake, supercharger; etc. Deleted seat...deleted sound system.... My two thoughts: " At what RPM does it make 840 HP/770 FT/LB.? And that with the " Black Key" and Race Gas. All this on Drag Radials(not slicks) and no roll cage.
It would interesting to see which person of the 3300 cars sold which actually try to repeat its performance...that's my take. Nice orange Dodge Demon/ Duster by Plymouth/ changed to Dart Sport. Jay B.Britt, Jr.

I know this.....that's why I combined the two.....dodge dart + Plymouth duster = dodge duster...... So like I said, its basically a dodge duster. I get how that's confusing. Not my best sentence idea haha.....
