This was a 69 GS 400 (X-clone) with a '70 455 Stage 1 and 400 trans. Built in the late 80's-early 90's. Lost it in '97 to a drunk driver. I wasn't in the car. Long story short is that I loaned it to a friend and another friend ended up driving it. Nobody died, but the driver was in ICU for 2 weeks and the passenger for 4 weeks. Moral of the story... DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE !!
Cars can be rebuilt/replaced .Those two guys are lucky to be alive. You are lucky to have not been in the car.
Lucky to be alive, indeed. That's one reason I don't lend my cars to my friends. The last time I did that was in 1972. Fortunately, he only creased the chrome on the back around the tail lights of my '64 SS Malibu towing his GTO to the track. That, and left cigarette butts in the ash tray (I didn't/don't smoke). Never again.
