Thanks :). Yeah he's had that since new. I remember it being around town when I was just a kid, I thought the laser stripes and slots were awesome. That's actually my first fiance's Dad. Still get along great with them, my ex-fiance included. Keith and I were on the fire department together and were going to restore that car together. I moved away and it's still there, along with her new husband's Firebird hahahaha.

That's great news! Happy for you that you decided to buy it back. Those kinds of opportunities don't come up very often. Guess we will be reading the updated thread in the spring!

Very cool deal. Maybe your buddy will keep the Caddy stored away so you can maybe get it back someday in like 20 years.

So cool you could get it back!

I think you should just clean it up, go through the brakes fluids and belts/hoses and drive it! Don’t bring it home and tear it all apart, enjoy it for awhile!

Oh, it's not getting torn apart. The plan is I'm going to keep the original engine set aside, drive it with the smog engine that's in it, and build another 455 using the C code heads I've got. Just as long as the car cleans up close to what it was before, it shouldn't need any "restoring". You could take it to the local car shows and take home a trophy back when I had it the first time, but it is tough to tell what's under all the dust at this point. :)

Cool story, thanks for sharing. I have always wanted a big cruiser, your Olds would fit the bill.
