So sorry to hear about this, another icon of the community lost. Our condolences to his family and friends.
Wow - too many Buick brothers gone so soon. So sorry to hear this Duane, condolences to you and his family! RIP Brad!
Drew is asking for any pics you guys might have of Brad for the viewing. He could get them off this site but the pics would be small and be grainy once blown up. If anyone has some pics please e-mail them to Drew. Here is his e-mail. Alconley@gmail.com Thanks. Duane
I am shocked to hear. One great Buick person is gone. I was so hopping to meet him at one of the nationals. R.I.P Brad. Tim
Brad will be missed. Both his love of Bucks and people. Condolences to both his family and Buick family
That is a shock, a terrible loss, my sincere condolences, he will be missed. And at 65 too; - very young, another reason to quit the grind and retire when one is still reasonably fit, because you never know when your number is up.
Boy this is so sad to hear. I hope guys look around and take stock. None of us are getting younger, take car of yourself and make sure you check cholesterol and blood pressure. Then go out and have fun, no guarantees in life…
Here is another not commonly known thing Brad did. I am not really much of a writer so when I started to do my Date Code book I discussed everything with Brad. I had a rough idea of how I wanted to do it but he helped me with the initial layouts and proof read each page. Sometimes I would change my mind and re-write a bunch of pages, then send them back to him for review. By the time I was done we were both satisfied and figured we made it as user friendly as we could. Duane
Hey Everyone. This is Drew, Brad's oldest son. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me feel about the what everyone has said about my Dad. He really was the best. Sometimes he would get on my nerves but I still loved him and I would love coming into work everyday and he would be in the office right next to mine, I think that is what I will miss the most. I wanted to pass along funeral arrangements so everyone that would like to come would have the info. Dad is at Underwood Funeral home in Marysville, OH ( https://www.underwoodfuneralhome.com/ ) His calling hours will be on Tuesday November 21st (we do not have the times just yet, I should know more tomorrow) and his funeral will be on Wednesday November 22nd at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, OH. I would really love it if a bunch of old Buicks would show up for the drive out to the cemetery. Again I and the rest of my family, really appreciate the outpouring of love you all have shown to my Dad, I know he really really appreciates it as well. As to the collector cars, they are not going anywhere. I and my brother Alex intend to keep getting them out there so everyone can enjoy them. It might take some time but that is something I know my Dad would want. Thanks again, Drew
So sorry to hear of passing of another buick legend/diehard. Never met him , but like anyone who is in the buick circle, know who he was and his beautiful prototype. Just wow ! Sad. Condolences to you Duane and to his family .rip brad
wish so much I could attend with my car as we’ve shown together under the same tent. He was nothing but a true gentleman to me. He helped me through getting hooked up with Hagerty. Just can’t make it. You sons, keeping his now your Buick’s (I hope) in a warm feeling inside.
Here is another Brad story, Years ago when the experimental 455 4-bolt main block went up on e-bay I felt the need to buy and protect it. Here was a piece of history that had survived all these years and was, at that time, destined to be put in a race car and probably get windowed. I made arrangements with the owner and he agreed to sell me the block. It was expensive, and I could have bought it outright, but spending that amount of money was going to hurt, so I called up Brad and told him “I just spent a lot of your money.” I proceeded to tell him what I did and he never hesitated a second and wanted to know where to send the check. We also decided to get Mark Reeves involved with the deal to spread out the financing and help protect the block. After it became known that we had the block and it was going to be protected, the top end of the motor and headers became available to us. I made another phone call to Brad and said “I just spent more of your money.” Again both Brad and Mark didn’t hesitant a second. The plan for this engine was always to get it to the Sloan Museum or back into Denny Manner’s hands. We were not interested in making any money on this deal, just into protecting a piece of history. Last year or so it went back to Denny, so everything worked out perfectly. Duane
I found it! I went through all of the BPG publications, and found several pictures. Here is Mooney sprawled across the Hood of Brad's Electra. Here is Brad with Maggie "the wonder dog" They say you reunite with all your pets when you pass. I'm sure Brad is up there petting Maggie non stop.
