My original radiator was missing so I began to look around to see if I could find one. Huge thank you to Green_Goblin here on the board for hooking me up with a perfect date code correct one for my GSX.
Ryan, I found my set of used Lakewood traction bars from back in the day, but am still looking for the extra yellow powder coated bars. Also found the new rubber snubbers. Just wanted to let you know I didn’t forget you. Congrats on the radiator. Duane
Got the car to my house so now the work can begin. Washed it off and did a small video around the body. I will get more pics and video as this project begins to get moving. I will say its hard not to just slap a motor and parts on this thing and make it a GSX beater lol. I think it would be a blast but I want to see it brought back to its former glory.
I think I am going to document on video some of the restoration of this GSX. What do you guys think I should try to capture that would be helpful for others ? Here is a link to the first video of the car....... More to come.
Ryan, just a tip on making a YouTube video (I learned the hard way), turn your phone sideways when filming so that your video will show a full frame instead of having the blackout spaces on both sides.
Anything that is vintage cool from back in the day. I love detail stuff that catches peoples eye and takes them back to when they were younger. Do you have anything interesting that you would part with ?
I have some gauges I was considering using but changed my mind They are from the 70s.May have more things as well
Thanks to George Dwyer I’ve now got a date code correct carb. Bit by bit this car is going to be coming back to life.
Perfect! Glad I could help. Just don’t sell the car.. keep this one please!!! (Pot, meet kettle)… lol
Sometimes you just got to look for a sign and then you see it. Today I went to talk to a body shop I was strongly considering using. When I walked in and talked to the owner the fact he knew what a GSX was made me happy but then he got a phone call. I walked over to take a seat to wait for him to finish his call and this is what I saw. Happy to say they will be painting my GSX
Seats and Carpet are out. The floor looks really solid and strong. No weak spots. I am very happy. Found the date code on the carpet.
