I just tried a search, and nobody's posted anything about it for the past three months? Anyone else looking foreward to the Chi-town "kruze"? The cruise happens in a long long loop on LSD, from 8-10 am this Saturday Then there's a show in one of Soldier Field's parking lots-or in a bunch of them if they have enough cars. I can't imagine there won't be a bunch of cars there-since this is the densest area in IL. I am pretty sure there are a bunch of car clubs around here too. The cruise is free, the show will cost $4.00 to enter. This is lifted straight from their site: "While the Kruze is free and open to all road-approved vehicles, there is a $20 registration fee to participate in the show at Soldier Field and it is limited to the first 750 "pre-1980" cars. The car show portion is open to spectators for only $5 and children under 12 are free! There will be ample parking for both participants and spectators-for more information call 773.622.6445 ext. 13. The Kruze begins at 8am and lasts until 10am. The Car Show runs from 11am to 3pm." $20.00 seems a little steep, but they do have to pay "Chicago"* prices to pull this off. *Chicago prices:corruption, pay to play, cronyism, etc-which means "upcharge"! Anyway, who's going??? :3gears: http://www.chitownkruze.com/ There is also this on Saturday too (didn't know about) Saturday Night Buick Club Cruise At the Frosted Mug Drive In Saturday June 4, 2005 Sponsored by the Buick Club of America. All cars welcome. It's a night of fun starting at 5pm. Info: Jim 708-371-3383 E-mail: frostedmugdrivein@comcast.net This is on their homepage: * Rated As One of the Top 10 Cruising Spots in the Nation by HOT ROD Magazine * The Frosted Mug Drive In is an old fashioned drive in, featuring car hops, located in the southwestern suburbs of Chicago, IL. We have delicious food and feature our famous Old Fashioned Frosted Mug Drive In Root Beer. (708)371-3383 http://www.thefrostedmug.com/index.html located at 11541 South Pulaski Road, Alsip, Illinois Alsip, is, according to mapquest, about half an hour South-West of Chicago. That would be sweet-all the Buicks that are at the Chicago show actually cruise for real to Alsip! So if you want to come in to Chi-town on Saturday, you could spend almost all day cruisin' with a few car people! Wish I didn't have to work in the afternoon. :spank:
