    BUICKRAT Got any treats?

I beg to differ, Olds are MUCH more popular than Skylarks.

About (I'm guessing here) 6-7 years ago I "donated" a rusty but straight and in tact GS hood to The Parts Place for them to ship to China for the pattern for their reproduction hood. I was promised one of the first ones (at a very reasonable rate), but have yet to hear any progress. Once the economy tanked in '09 I sort of gave up asking about it, but I guess it's time now to once again ask how the project is progressing. If they keep hearing about a demand they may step up the progress. Perhaps we should all start asking them for a hood?

I know TPP can be tough to deal with on some things, but you must admit they have stepped up on occasion with some decent products, (the reproduction grille comes to mind.. nice piece).

We don't get results by complaining to each other. The vendors need to hear our "needs"...over and over and over!

EXCELLENT INFORMATION! I've been asking around for hood makers to make a Steel Frame hood with the Fiberglass GS Shell, to have my own Prototype GSX hood (with the extended scoops, as on Brad Conley's car).

I am close to, and will be contacting The Parts Place, to see if they may work with me on this project, if you guys are seriously interested. I have about 10 Skylark & GS hoods of my own, that I may consider donating for them to use my original steel frames, and modify to fit the fiberglass outer skin onto, to see how it may turn out!

I'll let you know what I find out, if they'd be interested or not!:beers2:

WHAT?:Dou: No disclaimer about it is EXPECTED to have cracks and chips from The Parts Place...:moonu: Like BEFORE they prime it, BEFORE it is wrapped for shipping, BEFORE it gets to the shipper. I bet it is broken and TPP would STILL want YOU to ship it back at YOUR expense...:moonu:
