I've got 275/40-17's up front on mine. I also don't have any inner front fenders, but that doesn't really matter because the tire actually rubs on the tab that's at about 2-O'Clock in the wheel well looking from the drivers side. I've got SSB 2" drop spindles. When the car had 2" drop springs, the 235/60-15's used to rub in and out of the driveway, backing up or going forwards, and with consistent frequency. I think that was because of how the front end geometry was due to the dropped springs. With the dropped spindles, the geometry stays stock and I rarely hear the tires rub, and it's not rubbing enough to leave any kind of mark. I think if I remove that fender tab altogether it won't rub at all. I also think if I went from a 2" adapter to a 1-3/4" adapter it would stop as well, but I'm fine how it is.
Im going the pro touring route with my Buick, running 19's all around with 245 fronts and 285 rears..for now :grin:

Hey Nelson, how's the exhaust tucked up under there? I've actually got to repair a couple of header tubes on my Hooker Super Comps this winter because they got flattened by a bad piece of road. I was thinking about going with shorty headers from T/A but was curious what you're using, stock manifolds or what?

Joe, Good eye!! The roadrunner does have 20s on all corners, Im not copying it (thats a little more wild than I intended) but it was an inspiration. Nelson, your ride has a nasty stance!! Thats a little low for my taste, but it still gives me a good reference point and I like how it shows how we can go a lil more radical if we choose!! Thanks for chiming in!! At this point im leaning towards coys wheels (gun metal 5 spoke with a polished lip), with either 17x7 front and 18x8 rear, or 18x8 front and 20x10 rear (although that ones a bit more extreme than I intended). Sriley, I just received my wheels from a shop in Ohio. They are American Racing Torq Thrust 2's, gunmetal finish, 20x9.5 5.25 backspace in the back and 18x8 4.5 backspace in front. They only cost me $658 for all 4. You can't beat that price anywhere. If you want you can probably get 17 in the front and 18 in the back for a little cheaper. Almost exactly like coys but nicer in my opinion.
Joe, what was the name of the shop and where at in Ohio?? Thats a helluva good price compared to what im finding!! I havent totally decided against 20's on the back and 18's on the front. I'm still teetering between the 2 combos....

Joe, Thanks for the info. Im going to look into them. Plus, Theyre only about an hour from me so I wouldnt have to pay shipping!! Are you running stock rear wheel tubs?? I fit 275-60-15's on the back at one point, but 20x10 kinda intimidates me.... B.P. You wouldnt believe the work done to that roadrunner, everything on that car is one-off(the car was a totalled roll-over when they got it). The shop is Kammer Racing, and they build some wicked stuff!!
Sriley, I just got my tires for my wheels. I got 255/35/18 up front because they are wider and taller then the 245/40/18. I got 275/35/20 in the rear. They are Hankook v12. They are suppose to be some really good tires. I'm gonna put them on my 71 convertible to take a look at how they look because my 72 gs hard top is at the paint shop and won't be done for a couple of months. I'll try and post some pics, but they'll look alot nicer on my 72 when it's finished.
