Dont sell the Regal or step out the lime light of the Buicks just step back and evaulate.

Take it from me, I rushed to get my Regal done, trew it together to say I had a 455 Regal, drove it for a daily driver for about 1 1/2 yrs and that took its toll, then i really wanted to race and enjoy it, just one problem after the other, couldnt get the trans to shift right, kickdown set up for the TV cable on the trans, bad brakes( or mind of there own) chasing a fuel smell, and slowily seems to be losing power, just last Sat wnet and pulled the dist to fix the no advance I had, took it for atest drive lost the brakes, and when I nailed it, it boooooged, so now it sets, I wanted to take it racing this Sat, no go...... and it will set till Im ready to Mess with it.

My wife left me, and she left some serious bill issues I have to take care of to keep my home... so I know where you are coming from,

It will sit there til I'm ready, and I may find (with a clear mind ans second look that its an easy repair and the brake swill do that too.

So dont give up just , shift over to adiffrent track for awhile, do something not related to cars, heck even hang with the wie Shopping , might discover something "new" about her......

My motto has always been family first.... work down from there, they see that and respect your desire for fixing car differently.

    Hope this helps some

Well Floyd, you alright bud? Don't sweat it. You're not getting any adverse attention from me. I'm broke too. I broke two trannies this year and I'm down and out waiting on a rearend to be finished for and halfway complete project. I might be spectating also at Salem. I've got crap that needs taken care of......moving into a new apartment, crap went south with the gf, so I'm flying out to Cali to see the country. When I come back, if I've got any money for a tranny rebuild for the ole' Horse Bite, I'll drop the cash. If not, I'll have better luck next year. We may not have seen each other much this year, but we still got to buckle down and devise a plan to send the Chebies home on the trailer. That requires coming back stronger than when you last left the game. Downtime to regroup is part of the game. Let them Chebies have it! GOD BLESS!! :beer

What's up Dan?? Glad you're feeling better about the whole thing. Taking a break is a good thing. I'm still taking a break from the 70 GS. It's been almost 3 years. I'll get it out of storage here soon enough, maybe after the Skylark ticks me off again. But its running really well, just need to figure out the tranny.

Just so you don't feel alone with the whole regal thing. I was planning a 350 regal project too, but not the same as yours. I have a 70 2bbl motor I was going to use with a 200-4r for a mileage maker. Now with gas over $2.20/gal, I'm thinking on a TDI Jetta. I was thinking max MPG with the 350 is 26, the jetta will get 50. Also with PA changing the inspection laws last year I'm growing more concerned with the regal project. My inspection guy left the shop to work for Penelec and now I have to put all the smog stuff back on to pass the visual inspection (thank God it doesn't have to work). If I put a 350 in there it will surely not pass. I could classic it, but the new plates look stupid and I can only put 5k on it a year. I may still do it if my 72 455 doesn't come around in the next year or so.
