Thinking about trading the Vette for a GN

This topic struck a note with me too. Funny enough I'm going the other direction. Got me to thinking about Corvettes again, the cockpit feeling and handling they have.

Looked at the mid years. Prices are out of sight now. I sold a gorgeous 66 327 300 4spd AC Coupe in '97 for $14,500. It was way at the low end of price to move it (I was already living overseas), but the listings are double that now.

Then looked at the ZR1s. Sold my 95 in 96 with 2K miles for $50K when transferred overseas. Now the 92-93s are going for $25-35K, some with miles under 20K. Seems like a good deal to me considering the engine option was $25K.

I'm getting the ZR1 bug again, dang it.

What I'd really like to do is put a 94-95 ZR1 engine in a 6spd convertible. Headers, chip, a few other minor adjustments and it's over 500 HP.

Corvettes are awesome no doubt about it, but simply put bang for your buck, the TR is in and of itself a hard combination to beat. One of my stepfather's dealer friends used to spend big $$ on imports and we waxed him one day with a gn we had at the time that was pretty stock. Corvettes, ls1s in general and z06 of course i have a lot of respect for. But like Alan said the market is very soft right now, and you can go to Dennis Kirban's website, he definitely has some very nice trs on there or elsewhere, they are littered everywhere in autotraders nationwide. Trs for 80s performance and with a few grand in mods can have you deep in the 11s without lifting the valve covers at all. For a six cylinder, that is why impressive. Plus after you smoke the chevy owner next to you, or god forbid an obnoxious yuppie in his 5 series:beer roll down the window and tell him you are running a 6 cylinder, no nitrous/supercharger, and that its a BUICK! After that, the owner of that car may have a mid life crisis!

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

All I have to do is find someone who wants to trade, or buy my Vette outright. My mind is pretty much made up, short of hitting the lottery and having both:Brow:
