Ok here goes, my turn signal switch has been feeling real "spongy like", for about a year. Well, last week out for my morning day off coffee run, it died on me, click it to make a right turn, and after makeing turn, light was still blinking, and now the switch has no feeling in it, right turn light steady flashing, switch acts like its stuck on right turn.Well instead of just pulling the steering wheel and replaceing switch, found and considering just changing out for a tilt steering unit out of a (71 El-camino) any one with a clue or ideal weither this will fit or not ?

Well, you'll have two ignition switches, one on the dash and one on the column. I also think your '68 is a lot slimmer than the '69 up style. I think there's a bunch of reasons not to.

YES, What Patrick said is correct the '68 was the last year for ignition switch in the dash, finding a turn signal switch for the '68 would be a whole lot easier than changing the column, pull the steering wheel and check the turn signal switch out, you may find that it just needs cleaning or a piece has broke off or the spring has jumped position. A '68 column is very easy to replace with another '68 column, so look for a tilt '68 that's an easy swap.
