Doug: It was only a thumbnail on the Photo Sports USA website. There are other pics of the same car, but they're all thumbnails. It's a 69 Wildcat, black, with polished Centerline Convo Pro wheels (I think). Tried to enlarge the thumbnail...but didn't have much success... Is Tom a board member? Can't seem to find him on the board. Paul
That is Pa's own Tom "WILDCAT Wagner" He lives near Williamsport and Races at Beaver Springs Raceway as well as other places. This car runs 11's no sweat. Pat
I met Tom a couple times and that car is scary fast! He loves to tell stories of many many Mustangs who were rudely shocked when the cat left 'em seeing his taillights. He told me one time about some teenagers in a new 5.0 w/loud exhaust, a cam and some serious tires. They met at a light and gave each other the nod. When they met at the next light, about 1/8 mile, they asked him if he was running a BBC, he smiled and said no, all Buick! If you get a chance to meet him, ask him about his nightmare to modify Skylark headers to fit the Wildcat chassis. :TU:
Someone PLEASE, tell me how to get in touch with him! What a great car! (Gee, it has the same body style as mine - Tom knows how to pick a good car  ) I have many questions for him, including how he got headers on the car. I've been unable to find any vendor who makes headers for my application. BTW - I'm waiting for a set of Centerline Convo Pro wheels to be delivered. Now I know what they'll look like on the car and it looks like the decision was a good one! Any help contacting Tom will be greatly appreciated. Paul
If you ask him about headers, he will probably say he will never do it again. You should be able to find him on www.411.com or Yahoo People Search.
Tom towed the car to the Nationals this year but he has driven it down before, 4.11's and all. It really gets the looks on the trailer or on the road. Paul I've PM'd you with a number to contact Tom. Weekday evenings would probably be best. He's not into this internet stuff. Mike
Whats truely amazing is that its an EASY 11 second car yet it could probably win any car show it enters.....ARROW straight, perfect mirror-finish paint job, immaculate interior .....WHAT A CAR !!!
Mike (No Lift): Sent you a PM. What a car, absolutely beautiful. Hurry up Centerline, I want my wheels! Paul
Yeah, not only did he tow it, but he towed it with a equally beautiful white electra 225. Talk about a class act. I have always loved this car , missed him at the nats the past couple of years. He's been running one of my 4000 s-p converters in it for years, in fact he specifically made mention to me this year that the old converter was still doing fine. Great guy to talk to . Jim Burek
Jim: How well do you know the car? Can you tell me what he's running engine/trans, etc.? I'm willing to bet that he's done many of the mods I'm now considering. Besides the converter, anything else on the car from you? I'm just happy to see someone else screamin' around with my car! Any help is greatly appreciated! Paul
Tom also has another 69 or70 Wildcat thats equally impressive too.I believe it is in the low-mid 12's.Oh BTW ....Hi Mike Pesarchick(no lift) Pat
That car looks awesome. It's amazing to know that boat can go to easy 11's. :jd: Here's 2 more pics I found on buickstreet. http://www.buickstreet.com/images/bop-0046.jpg http://www.buickstreet.com/images/bop-0047.jpg Hope Bill @ buickstreet won't mind( TIA Bill ). Notice on the first pic I have posted, the car has a Stage 1 emblem on the Grille! :3gears:
Gotta love it! Here's my baby. I love that body style...and top it all off with a BBB455. Oh, yeah! Just look for the red "455" under the "LeSabre" emblem on the rear quarter. My pic is not too clear, but it's there. Not too many of us around...
Paul, well obviously he is runing a t-400 s-p. I think it has the stock rear-end in it, he had a spare on the trailer in case of breakage. I know he mentioned having a locker in the rear end. I don't know much about the motor. I think he runs a 107 cam, but not sure. Iron stg-1 heads I believe. Jim Burek
Jim: Thanks for responding. I appreciate any info I can get as I plan ahead for the future. I'll contact you when it's "tranny time" to see what suggestions you may have. I've often thought about a S-P converter for my TH400. Right now I'm planning for a gear change in the rear. Thanks for your help! Paul
