I'm looking through the most recent Auto Round-Up and saw an ad for this:
'74 Chevelle 2dr sedan, 454, 3spd manual on the column, 11,500 orig. miles, radio delete, straight d/b, no a/c, like new, $8500.00 obo.

My question is did GM actually build 454's w/ 3spd's on the column? If so this has to be very rare :Do No:

I was in the Army with a dude that had a 74 350 Chevelle with a three on the tree. Does that help? Or were you looking for big block only?

There are VERY FEW 71 Centurions out there with the 3 on the tree...

And they are all factory 455 cars. Talk about weird, huh?

    About that Chevelle

    Lon,
I have seen that same car advertised for several month's, might have seen
it for sale since last year :Do No: I think in the earlier listing's it said the
car was originally an inline six cylinder car that had a 454 transplant, at
least I'm pretty sure that's how the ad read.

But wasn't 74 still in that time frame when you could get most any option you wanted. Not as much as earlier years but still if you had the money and a connected dealer.

    Don't you feel naked?

    Hey Miller............................

What's with your sign off? :

    1. 1971 T-37 400 4SPD (1 OF 41)
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.

I know you're young and need the money, but don't you feel a little naked with only one car in the sign off?

Maybe you ought to change your sign off to:

    1. Find 'em
    2. Fix 'em
    3. Flog 'em
    4. "Foto" shoot 'em
    5. "Off" them
    6. Forget 'em

You know what's funny. I was just on the performance years website and saw (what I'm pretty sure) was a post from Tom and his sig had the usual T-37, but also included a 71 GTO Tropical Lime resto project. Tom, did you get another car????? :Do No: Thought you were looking for a GS?

ah gotcha. I think my GTO is one of those types of projects.
while I'm not a fan of green, I like Tropical Lime for some reason.
fwiw, I just parted a 71 LeMans in case there is anything you need. Is your car a 400 or 455HO?

    I'll email you Chris

    The GTO is a 400/3spd manual 3.55 safe-t-track, kind of a wierdo,somewhat
rare with the 3 spd manual, I believe less than 500 were built like this
