This is mine, what do you think it's worth?

  1. This is my winter beater, and I want to sell it on ebay for $ for my 455 build. I won't be insulted by honest answers.

Triple Blue 70 Cutlass 4 door hardtop
Exterior: Both lower quarters are gone(can see into the trunk) Same for lower fenders. Paint is faded, one grille is cracked, bumpers are rusty but straight. Good hood, and decklid (no rust underneath). Core support rusty. Trunk floor bad.

Interior: Some small ripping on seats, seat springs are loose, carpet OK, package tray missing, headliner mint, dash pad, and bezels mint. door panels great shape.

Drivetrain: 350 4bbl, heads rebuilt in 01 (burnt valve), tranny strong, car runs strong but could use a good tune up. 80k miles. daily driver, last 25k miles are all highway. Needs tailpipe from muffler to back.

Options: AC( disconnected compressor/ drive broken), Power Disc brakes, PS, trunk light, hood light, 12 bolt posi, maplight mirror, AM radio

Again- I see cars in pieces go for $2000 sometimes I'm thinking $1200 to $1700?? This car can be driven all the time. I've had it three years or driven 14 total months with without maintenance besides gas, and oil.

  2. In my humble opinion, I really don't think it will bring that much. First, it's a 4dr, 2nd the body is rotting away.. just seems quite a bit too much to expect for a winter beater such as it is. You might want to try the "Other Bench" too, since other brand owners visit there more.

  3. David,
First thank you for your humble opinion, Second, that was a good idea to post on the "Other Bench". And finally, like I said, I see lesser cars sell for more on ebay all the time.

  4. Paul, ebay is an unpredictable place to sell a car, so you just never know what kind of action you will get there. Good luck, I hope you can get what you want for it.

They are often worth more as the sum of there parts. I would think that '70 Cutlass parts are quite valuable to someone who is looking.

Sounds like you have a buyer who could use the stuff and give you what you want for it. Sounds like an easy decision to me, one less thing to think about and $1500 to find something else to get into. If you decide to part it out yourself let me know, I may be interested in a few odds and ends.

  8. will let you know if I part it.

    Michael Evans a new project

You may get $1200.00 for it. Good luck.

You were asking about the blue car? Or the green one?

BTW- Is it a GM or Olds 12 bolt?
Does it have disk brakes in the front?

    NJBuickRacer I'd rather be racing...

Post it on www.442.com that's where I bought my last '72 Cutlass, as well as sold it and my '70 455 Cutlass. I bought the '72 for $1200, got rearended so bad it twisted the frame and shortened it almost a foot, and sold it for $900. It was a 2dr bucket/console car though, I'd say yours is probably worth between 800 and 1200 depending on whether or not it's the "O" type posi. The "O" type rears are only useful for someone doing a #s match resto as it has 12 cover bolts but the ring gear only has 10. All parts for the "O" type will only fit that rear, and gear selection is almost nonexistent. The 2-dr doors are in great demand if they're not rusty (mine were perfect), the hood and decklid are a dime a dozen. The core supports are another big $$ item. I can give you a couple email addresses for Olds guys that I know that may be interested in the car, let me know.

  11. The blue one. I'd bedead before anyone would get the green one. Not sure of the 12 bolt, Bought the car from the neighbor of the original old lady owner so I'd guess it's an Olds.

And yeah it has power discs in the front.
