Over the weekend I dropped the 455 into the old 350s place, hooked most all connections up untill I got to the throttle cable. I didnt even think about this in advance, but the old cable is several inches too short, daaa. Anyone have suggestions of a way to solve this little problem, short of going to a junk yard? Sure could use some input on this one. Thanks, Mark ou:
Hmmmm....My 350 cable hooked right up when I swapped the 455 into my Skylark. I read several people use the Lokar cable from jegs/summit. Do a search for "Lokar", there's a couple threads floating around about it..
The 455 cable is longer. Good luck finding one. I think one off of an Electra might work. Your best bet is the Lokar or Lokar knock-off you can get on ebay. They're about $25 or so.
Check for a 3.8 Cable, when I did the 3.8/455 swap I was able to use the existing cable, only prob was the end that attaches to the carburator was different and needed a retaining clip to be held on.
Thanks Guys, I found the LOKAR part and they will be here tommorow. Hope to have the 455 running by Thursday, provided I didnt over look anything else. With any luck the Buick Gods will smile on me this week!!!! THANKS :TU: Mark
