I am planning on putting on a plastic 1 inch carb spacer soon but I feel that i am going to have a problem with the throttle linkage. The car is a 71 skylark with a 350 with TA intake. the carb is a holley 4150. the stock linkage is what is on there now. For people using carb spacers, what was done if anything for the linkage to function corectly?
You can buy a throttle cable bracket that bolts onto the left rear carb stud from Autozone or other parts places.... Only like $5 or so. They even have the type with the provisioning for the Kickdown cable. Other than that, I don't know. Good luck
You have aftermarket stuff but with my stock 80 setup a 2in fit fine with no problems on linkage or fuel.
My 69 350 has no problems with a 1" spacer. I can't say that I know what the 70 linkage looks like though.
well i got the spacer on and all the linkage is stock and mechanically sound. The open spacer does seem to add to the power at higher RPMs but with my 2.56 open rear i dont think i will really enjoy the combo untill i get the posi in. thanks guys
Why not go 2in? seams to be the popular choice? My old 76 gutlass with 350 Olds had a 1/2 or 1 in spacer stock.
