Time for a new battery

    I had a red top Optima and ready for a new battery.
    What you using? Mild built 455, lil compression. Just sits to long.

    I prefer odyssey or even better Northstar. All virgin lead, out put way way above rated and will outlets and outpower any optimia. Odyssey can be ordered at most Autozones. Northstar will more than.likely have to be shipped in. They are more than the junk from mexico, but once you see one in action you will see why they are worth it.

    Depending on your wallet - Costco sells Interstate. That's what I use.

    I buy Costcos deep cycle boat marine grade. Great for non-everyday drivers.

    I purchased an ACdelco (canadian) 75PS 8+ years ago for my '72 GS and have had no problems.

    There is an outfit near me that sells unbranded Interstates. "Budget Batteries" is the name. They do not have the generous warranty promise, but the batteries are good. I use an absorbed glass matt version and I do put
    it on tender occasionally...

    If you dig into it it looks like Johnson Controls builds 90% of the batteries.
