Yes it's me typing not Rhonda. I'm sappy this year cause I had one of those life changing near Death experience's up north.
My dad and I were going hunting in the morning and the roads were icy. Driving on a down hill curve we started to slid and couldn't stop or make the curve onto the bridge. The antilocks where screaming and he couldn't do anything. Trying not to hit the bridge my dad let up off the brakes and swerved to the left trying to avoid it. The truck started to turn but not enough, he hit the brakes again but because he had his hunting boots on was hitting the brakes and gas. we flew over the enbankment dropp off 15 feet down into the river . We landed on our side and I couldn't get out..
My dad pushed his door open and climbed out and help me get up and out.
We spent 2 1/2 hours waiting for help. All I could think about was my wife and kid. The first thing I did was call Just to hear her voice, and only then I realized there was not a single scratch. My dad and I are fine.

Hugg your Kids, Kiss your wife, tell your parent's thank you and you love them. Don't dwell on the little stuff- lifes short.
Happy Thanksgiving to eveyone !!!!!!!!! See you all soon !!

ohh yah the next time you do a big nasty burn out- stopp and smell the RUBBER!!!!!:3gears: :3gears: :idea2: :TU:

    Tim,

Life IS short, and you need to take advantage of the opportunities that you have with family and friends. Luckily, you came out of it without a scratch. :TU:

Glad you and your father are OK Tim.Sometimes life has it's little way of keeping you "in check".

Have a little story of my own.As some of you know my wife Tiffany is a Kindergarden teacher. This year she has a little boy in her class whos mother is dying of cancer.Little Mikey is the oldest of three children. His mother is bed ridden and has maybe two good days a week from all the treatments.Where it really hits home for me is that I went to school with this girl.We had many classes together.I'm 34 years so that makes her way too young. It effects us everyday and it sucks.

So I agree with everything Tim says.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Tim ,I always knew that you were a softy.

Most important here is that you and your Dad are OK!

And yes, sometimes it takes a little "cold sober" to make us take stock in what is really important.

To All : Enjoy the time you spend with your families today.

A toast to all with a drum stick! Happy Thanksgiving!

    Rich C.

PS Yes Tim,as I started to read your post I skipped to the end to see if Rhonda had written it. Ha Ha !

Damn, Tim......I've been in a few pretty serious accidents, but being trapped in a vehicle under water is the scariest thing I can think of.

Thank goodness you and your Dad are OK. My daughter was 8 when I had my last really bad one, and like you, lying in that car (seats both broke as we were tailended) all I could think of was my daughter and wife.....

Guess there's no doubt what you'll be thankful for at the turkey fest today.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all as well

Tim, glad to hear you and your Dad are ok as well.

Tom, sorry to hear about your classmate. I said a prayer for her, lifting her and her family up to our Lord.

I have a lot to be thankful for as well as I had a life changing event too. Back on July 17th my brother Alan went into the hospital in critical condition with a spontanious bleed on the brain. By the following morning, through them not watching his diabeties, he had DK and his blood needed to be flushed. From this he developed pnuemonia, had a heart attack, went into Adult Respiratory Distress, caught MRSA and went to grave condition by Monday. He ended up staying in ICU for 7 weeks & 5 days. Twice during that time his wife had to give the hospital an answer as to the course of action she wanted them to take. The second time that they asked was on the 25th when they told her they needed her answer - long term (brain dead, multiple organ failure, on a vent in a nursing home) or short term (pull the plug in the hospital). She & my Mom wrote his obit on the 26th because she was going down have the plug pulled on the 27th. By the grace of God He pulled Alan through (even the Dr's say so). He is here at the shop today with the only thing effected being his left foot! During all of this my parents had a lot of health issues going in & out of hospitals. I actually thought I my Dad was dying in front of my eyes one night when he lost about 3 units of blood at the house due to a severe bowel bleed. Also sent Mom & Dad to the hospital one night in seperate ambulances! I was very thankful to be able spent Thanksgiving with them yesterday.

    Tim and Lon,
glad to hear everything/everyone is o.k.
Sounds like both of your families have alot to be thankful for this season.

My mom always has alot of gratitude year round, and uses little sayings when she hears someone complain about how bad they think things are going.
    A couple she uses.....

"No matter how bad you think you have it, someone else has it worse."

"I once complained of having no shoes, until I met a man with no feet"

"The Lord works in mysterious ways"

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving:TU:

Tim, glad to hear that you and your dad are ok. That had to be one wicked scary experience. Sounds like you may have had an unseen passenger watching over you.

Lon, That's quite the ordeal your brother went through. I think there was some divine intervention to help him recover. I'm glad he came through so well.
    Dave
