Welp, I'm building a new car , new motor. Very low option car- trying to figure out where to drop weight. The cars to nice to cut up any place, Its already is a Post car. Could do an Aluminum head motor???? Hmmmmm Eureka !!!!! Driver !!!!!! My tank A$$ has been aquiring extra tonage for the last 10 years. Parking lot parties ,and all this pizza taste testing is adding up. Time to do something about it!
So if every 100lbs you lose off the car is a tenth. Less weight = faster... yes yes I like.
Driver losses 50 lbs, belly not hitting steering wheel, Reaction times better due to focus( Not craving donut at the tree) yes yes -I like so far.
    This also equals faster.
But Rhonda read in cosmo, for every 30 lbs you loss -You get an inch of your weiner back . Hell if I lose 200lbs I'll be average. this weight loss thing is great!!!!:) Ohh and I had sex the other night and didn't feel like I was going to pass out after 10 minutes!!!!
The money I've saved on food already has paid for the dyno day. I'm suddenly turning a profit in the Pizza room due to not eating all the profit.

Seriously though, already lost 20lbs. Hoping for 50 by June race- if not I'll keep tryin . Need to do something.
Anyone else trying this approach this year???????? I think I've seen alot of us gettin older and packing on a few extra .
Except Rammitlonger- he always looks like a model of health. Jealous:af:- Don't know how- His wife does make some wicked cookies???
Welp- good luck to all. :beers2:

Ohh and Paul- I'm coming for you. I won't be sleeping this year. See you at Milan

Keep it up Tim... Losing weight is hard to do, keeping it off even harder. Last year I lost 30lbs and put it all back on, sucks! Maybe Monday i`ll head back to the gym.

Weight loss is probably the most over looked secret in drag racing,,, and it does not matter how you lose it,,, just so you lose it.... remove sound deadner from under the carpet/seats/trunk,,, and factory undercoating,,, paint is much lighter,,,, too many layers of paint, is a culprit.... I had a car that had 12 layers of paint from stacking one paint job right after another on and when i took it to bare metal to repaint,,, I saved the old paint that I broomed up off the floor and it weighed 42 lb...:Brow: run with just 5 gal of gas,,, no spare tire, or jack,,, all personal stuff out of the car...no tools in the car....
in certain classes get rid of weather strips, window cranks, have the windows go up and down with straps and snaps.... do research and do it like NASCAR does it, within class restrictions.... drill holes in certain things ,,, use the lightest gage metals in things like exhaust systems... brackets, ect.... but dont compromise safety,,,, in some places you can use lexan in the side windows, but not the back or front glass....run without a alternator , and/or use a very small battery in certain classes....use the newer gear reduction starter... shorten all bolts so there is just 1 thread showing thru the nut.... and on and on.....

Dude, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. Ive lost 10 at a time before and put it back on right away. But I'm to tryin to stick to it,I have too.
-Even though the post car is 300lbs lighter- I'll be down 50 cubes on the Motor ,so anything I can do to help the little bugger. Besides if I lose 50 lbs I have cinnimon choclate chip cookies waiting for me at the finish line!

Im afraid that at 130 lbs Im resigned to chopping away at the car. Pretty much ran outta steel thats not structual or needed for safty. Fiberglass and lexan are next on the list. Then that should put me in the roll bar zone(11's) so theres a whole nother can o worms.
