Rules are meant to be broken, and I am about to demolish one of mine. For the sake of my wallet and charge card, I limit myself to one project at a time. My buddy and I are rebuilding a 70 C-10 we bought for nothing in the hopes of selling it for a little profit. It is getting close to going to the body man, but his wife throws a wrench in our wrenching plans regularly. Right after we bought the truck, my Chevelle developed serious engine problems, :Dou: which we planned to address right after we sold the truck. The problem is my Buick is sitting and I want to start on it NOW. After a trip to Europe in the early 70s and sitting for the last sixteen years, I know it will take a lot of work, time, and money to get the car the way I want it. QuikBuik sold me a complete 455 a while back, thanks Tim, and I cant stand it any more. I need to start pulling my Special apart.

Thanks. I haven't figured out the biggest risk yet, the wife getting ticked for me spending more time in the garage, or me spending more money.

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

A few things to buy - assorted sizes of Glad Zip-lock baggies and a Sharpie pen to write on the bag whats going in.....and a cheap digital camera to photo everything BEFORE dis-assemby.

......Ohhh and a good set of earplugs for when you come out of the garage into the house   :spank:    :spank:

    Michael Evans a new project

Very good advice for the short term memory people like myself. Just first put a short piece of tape on the bag to make the marking readable after a few months in the box (like mine).

The first thing I hear when coming from the garage and into the house...." take off those greasy shoes!!!!!!". :boring: Even though the floor is clean in the garage

I got the baggies with the label space already on them, and saved a bunch of the boxes from Christmas to package the pieces in. I need to spend my cash on the C-10 to get it gone, but I figure I will have plenty of disassembling on my Special to keep me busy at least until the summer.

I already know I will need patch panels in the floor on both sides of the transmission. Does anybody know if Chevelle floor panels will fit a Buick Special station wagon?
