Julie beat Larry Kirkum in the final 11.30's to larry's 11.40's. Larry's gold l88 went 11.31 this morning, I believe that is a new pure stock record. The conditions were perfect with a tail wind, the track was hooking they said
Several people had the personal best today. Air Density Altitude was something crazy like 300-350ft at 9:30-10:00a.m. this morning. Tim Clary ran a 13.3X in Rhonda's Olds this morning. Jeff Sawruk ran a 12.82 I believe in the 350HO Custom S. Jeremy McNicol got his Buick into the 12's The new guy with the L79 66 Nova ran a 13.03@109? Yvonne McNicol ran a 12.8x Larry Dupuis in the white 70 Judge ran several 13.03,04,05 and said he broke the 2900 pass mark(over 2900 passes on that Judge:eek2: ) Danielle ran a 13.92@97+ in her Stage1 This is all I can think of right now as far as personal best's
I ran my second best time ever. 13.81@104 Early on Friday I was pulling my best 60' times. Consistant 2.1's. I weighed in at 4205 on the Martin scales. After the 1:30pm break I could not get those 60' times back.
Yvonne got a 12.80 and I did a 12.93 Yvonne lost for the first time to Mr Dan Jensen she did tree Dan for a hole shot win that she was proud of. Congrads to Dan for getting well into the 12's with a 12.84 Clary told me there was 13.40 in the Olds and he was wrong, it jumped right to a 13.39. The 350 was running strong great job. Rhonda had fun with the new car. Danielle Miller on here last run against Chris Jones spun off the line and didn't want to lose. We all gave her the drifting award. Chris stop picking on my girls first Rhonda now Danielle. Yvonne might send her PIT BOY after you My hat is off to Mr. Jim Jerichow for giving the keys to Nick for your last run as Nick lost a tranny. Mike hope the beer I gave you tasted as good as running 12.50's felt, glad I didn't have to run that sexy LS6
I had a Blast. I had to send in my secret weapon on the last race, as I was unable to get by Dave in the first two rounds....Thanks Nick. He ran within 2 1/100 of my best of the weekend on that last go round. I did have a new PB 12:64 @ 108.?? Congratulations to first time racer in his Buick, Kent Gardner, he ran in the 12:7's this weekend. Kent is only in his early twenties and purchased the car when he was seventeen. Look out for him! Mike....My wife is still laughing about your Polka dancing Chippendale. This community of racers is a bunch of first class people. I can't wait for next season.
It's a bummer I did not get to see any of it. I would have liked to see her drift that big car around on the starting line. It's nice cause it's yellow. Sorry Jeremy but when there are so few of us Ford people around you can't afford to lose you're shootout. I think I helped Rhonda by beating her a few years ago when we got paired up to race. She's driving a Mercury Montego now. Next thing you know, in the next year or so the yellow Buick will be sold and Danielle will be driving a Ford. Being serious, it was a great time at the track.
Just wait until Kent gets some rubber No Chris, I believe Danielle passed on the Rhonda's car for the Buick. Rhonda bought the her car because it was like a car she had back in the day and Danielle bought her car back because she missed it so much. Rhonda has another Ford that you might like
I say, if your gonna go out, go out giving them something to talk about!:kodak: And Chris, Jeremy is correct, I did pass on Rhondas car. I wanted that yellow Stage 1 back. The car is mine and I have no plans on selling. I had a great time as usual hanging out with everyone. Thanks to the Clarys, McNichols, and the Canadians for feeding me this weekend. And a big thanks to Chris Jones for allowing me to rub in my first round victory, and taking it with a smile.
I had a riot! In fact I think having that much fun is illegal in some states. It is safe to say that I will be back next year. Nick...consider that your warning. We can have the shoot out that wouldve next spring. Thanks again to everybody. You are what makes these events the best muscle car racing on the planet. Hopelessly addicted.:blast:
Jim, I love being your secret weapon! Sorry I didn't get enough smoke on that burnout! I forgot to pull the seat up all the way!! That young whippersnapper Kent was giving this oldman a hard time all weekend. To bad the Pimp mobiles trans gave up the ghost. Wait til next year I always say.
Kent we work together and your one of my beter friends, but i am coming next year so look out. will be a good time Buick hunting (hahaha). Just kidding guys looking forward to competing next summer:laugh:
