You know the one-it is that long bolt at the base of the alternator. I can get it to go through the first opening and through the base of the alternator, but I'm not lined up in the back apparently. I try to tighten it down and it spins and spins. The bolt is not stripped and neither is the fitting. Does anyone have any suggestions on lining up this frustrating thing? :Do No: David

Are the other bolts tight? Maybe the hole isn't lined up and the bracket won't move. Make that one the first bolt on the bracket you put in, if possible.

Sometimes I'll slowly move the alternator with one hand while trying to tighten the bolt with the olther hand - just enough to catch.
