Hello. I tried to put on some other tires/rims today, but the lip on the wheel well lip was touching, so I put the pizza cutters back on. Any good tips at how to do this?
    Thanx.

Here's what I've seen done before. Get the tires on that you want to run. Grab a deep well socket, small extension & ratchet. Use the socket & ratchet to roll its way thru the gap, bending the wheelwell lip up a bit. Repeat as necessary.

If you don't mind spending a few bucks......Eastwood Co. sells a tool with skateboard looking wheels, that is adjustable for any bolt pattern & ww lip dimension.

I've heard of guys rolling a baseball bat around the wheel lip.. Haven't tried it myself though.

if you only need a little bit of clearance, you can also use a sawzall to trim the excess inside the wheel well. I know on my 69 I had enough lip that protruded beyond the chrome trim to just trim a little (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 an inch) off and the wheels fit great and you can't even tell it was modified.

Would rolling the lip be a potential future rust problem? It seems it would be easier for stuff to collect there and hold water.

Good thing to keep in mind, but it lives in my garage in the CA desert, nothing rusts out here, things dry out & turn to dust.
