So.... I have a pretty nice set of 14x6 rally wheels on my car with bad dry rotting 235/70s on them. They don't make this size any more, 225/70 is the biggest size which is smaller.

I'm considering getting 15x7s, and I could get 255/60s on the back easily.

So with all these being just a radial tire, and not a sticky drag tire, does it make that much difference? I need to do something soon. Suggestions?

Those look nice. Drag radials aside, What are your thoughts on 255/60/15 vs 225/70/14 with your basic all season radial? The second one is a bit narrower but it lets me keep my 14" rims. If I use all season radials like a BF Goodrich TA, does an 8" tread make much difference over a 6.3" tread if you don't have drag radials? Am I just spinning anyways with a mild 455 with both tires?

A mild 455 will spin any street radial. If you are after traction on the street, nothing short of a warmed up drag radial is going to give you traction.
