    Hello All:

I have an 86 Regal with the 307.

I need 2 rear tires. Presently sized at 215/70/14.

I'd like to have a wider tire and was thinking of 245/60/14.

Will this work for the better look and would their be any drawbacks? Any other size suggestions?

Well, if you go with those two sizes, your tire diameter will go down from 25.8" to 25.6". Not much. But your width will go from 8.5" to 9.65". So best way to tell if they'll fit on the current rims is to get up in there and see if you have an extra 1/2" of room on the inside and the outside. My guess is that you should, but you need to make sure.

    What would a 235/60/14 do?

    i had 245 60 15s on my 79 regal with a stock buick rallye..4.25 bs
so it'll definatly fit on yours
shouldnt be any real drawback due to gearing since you have a v8
as for the 235 60 14s it'll be even smaller then the 245 and also your current front size
measuring at 25.1 and width at 9.25

I found someone near me that has the 245/60/14 tires for sale. They are used but in good shape according to him. He's asking 125 for all four. Sounds reasonable, but they have to be in decent shape. I'll have to look. Any suggestions?

not a bad price, the cost of tires are insane now since the gas/ stamps and all the other **** went up this past summer

i'm not totaly sure how 245s would fit in the front though
when i had 215-65 15s (26.0)they rubbed slightly at full lock butch a spacer fixed that
but thinking it was more due to height and width..and i beleive 78-80 regals has smaller wheel wells...so taking all that into consideration you should hopefully be fine

I had 235-60/14's on my 86 regal (now owned by Ratroaster) and I think they rubbed a little. But you learn where they rub and you don't turn the wheel that far, so its no biggie.

I used to run 235 60 15 on the front and 255 60 15 on the rear factory GN wheels on a 79 Regal no problems at all

I do not understand this tire thing so well so I have a question.Say you have a 235 and a 215.I assume from what I am reading here a 215 is a shorter tire?Or do these numbers have nothing to do with tire height...Thanks

a 235 60 15 and a 215 65 15 are about the same size only the width is different a 235 is wider but not much

what rear tire size could i get away with on my 80 regal. i believe i have factory 15x7 corvette rally wheels? i am unsure of the back spacing. currently i have 215x65x15 on all 4 corners, but need more rubber in the back for 360 i built
