I just found two brand new Goodyear Eagle racing slicks in my garage last night. My fiance's uncle stored them there last summer and told me that when I got them out I could have them. My question is about the size, they are 29x12-15. Would these fit under a stock 70' GS, without any problems with rubbing/shredding? I don't have the car yet, I pick it up on May 1st. I thought about selling the tires on EBay, but if they will fit, I'll just keep them. I'm looking at 15x8" wheels fro the back. Also, I've seen tubes for sale and have never used slicks before, what should I know in order to use them? Are tubes required? I wouldn't be using the tires all the time, just in case I wanted to run it at the local strip. Thanks, Scott
They sound a bit wide for a 15x8 rim. I would think you'd need a 10" wide rim for those. Do you know the actual tread and section width? I know the max section width you can fit is just under 13". I run 325/50 Dragradials and they are 12.9" section width. And I did have to trim the top of the fender wells to have no rubbing issues.
