With this fashion rule change, I guess I'll have to dig out my orange, official Scat Pack windbreaker for next year! :kodak:

That's why Frank Rice -pegleg- wants the one size upgrade allowed for British Bike shirts only. That's what "XL" is all about these days-relaxed fit for the old guys!!!

Hey John, the disk brake cars used the chevy rally wheel with the small center cap and beauty ring because buick did not put the 15 inch on the skylark until 1970.

SSSOOOOOOOOoooooo...... can i run a 225-70-14 and be within the rules for

    Pure Stock?

They are not too picky when it comes to the tire rules. A lot of car are running one size larger than stock, and there is a Chevelle that is running G70 X 15 tires, when factory size is F70 X 14.

All right!!!!!!!!!! I actually had a 54 88 tudor just like that (dark green/white). Had the old "magic circle" that the GM cars had back then where the rubber seal between the inner wheelhouse and the outer quarter panel skin trapped salt and other corrosive crud and eventually ate right through the quarter panel.

On one side, all we had to do was grab it at the wheel opening and yank and shazam! Instant rear tire clearance for about anything short of an Allis Chalmers.

Took a hatchet to make the other side look the same. Engine sure ran good in my 41 Ford convertible.

Did Buick have a police pursuit option? Olds had the B01/B07 police apprehender package that included among other things, 15 inch tires on steel wheels. The original 442 in 1964 was basically this package with a few 59 cent badges and a sexy dual snorkel air cleaner.

Damn, I love that bug screen............

205R70-14 radial is the accepted equivalent to a E70-14. 225 would make that about a G70. Quite an upgrade from a 775-14 I would think. As I said before, check with Dan and Bob for the final answer

This photo is absolute proof that Fords keep you thin. Oldsmobubbles make you fat. Look at how thin DH was!!
You want to see something really ridiculous, you should see me from the rear on my '68 BSA, looks like an apple sitting on a razor blade.

OK. I see. So a 775-14 is equal to a G78-14 series. Then it would make sense that a G70 would be the 70 series counterpart to the 775.

I'm surprised that Buick hadn't gone to the 70 series tires on its performance models until 1970. That's a couple of years behind most of the others.

If the one size upgrade is not correct, we have a problem!! The L88 cars both had G-70/15 firestones on them????? I thought you could go up one size.

Julie had F70x15 when she ran this year at Stanton, according to Terry P. Can't say what JJ had cause I didn't look. Terry did put new G70x15's on before he took the car to Virginia for a F.A.S.T. meet though.
