Welp, gotta gice up the 245/50/16's up front. Got to go with the 225/50/16's up front. The guy at Discount Tire said they would fit fine...

They rub like crazy on the fender. Oh well. I really liked the wide tires all the way around, but no go.

I run 245/60R15's up front with no trouble at all. What rim do you have them on? I'm using a stock 15" rallye wheel. Also, my suspension is brand new so there is no front sag at all.

I'm running 16X8 American Racing Torque Thrust D's. The car has definently sagged in the front at least an inch. But, I like the stance. I am having some 1.5 drop springs made by Eaton Springs this fall, so the car will sit lower than factory. I do not know the offset of the rim, but the tire is 10 inches wide....too wide for sharp turning.

No more rubbing with the 225/50/16's!!!!

BUUUUUUUT, the bone heads at Discount Tire tried to make me pay $35.00 to get them. Ummmm, no.:af:

They recommended the tire size, not me! After driving it a while (about 200 miles in 2 months, they only rubbed when turning sharply) I found that they rubbed and cut the side walls. The said "Why did you wait so long?" I said "Excuse me but YOU said the tires would not rub, and specifically asked about it". This is the 7th time I bought tires/rims from these guys. Kinda "rubbed" me the wrong way. Oh well, I'm happy now!

    Hey Al,

It's either my rim offset, or the fact that my car sits about an inch lower as the original springs have sagged. When turning the wheel to lock, the outer sidewall would hit the front lower fender edge. 255's would have been muuuuch worse.

    Wide Tires

Derek, my 72 GS 455 has the ralley ride and handling package and sits lower then a Skylark. I would check to see if you have late model LeSabre wheels on your GS, AL.
