So, here I buy a copy of the Hot Rod magazine and start reading the article on the Martin race that was in June. Too funny, as I bust out reading the quote from Dave Dudek on page 86 of the magazine stand issue.

"When Wayne came around last year, he took everything away from the Chrysler guys. He Bitch slapped us. So we're glad to at least have the mph record back"

I just about shot my cheap 2 buck Chuck out my nose. :moonu:  I think journalism is changing its ways to sell magazines!!!!!!! LOL...... :beer

    Two buck chuck....in Illinois?

    Jim:

You can get 2 buck chuck in Illinois? Is it still only sold in Trader Vic's? They just opened one near here, but haven't been in to see if they have it or not. Interesting story behind the origin of 2 buck Chuck. Is it still only 2 bucks a bottle?

It's Trader Joe's in Ohio. Not bad for the money. I think it's only $2 in California and like $3.49 here.

It's $2.99 a bottle here in Illinois last time I looked. Nothing like a good cheap drink.

Have a friend near San Francisco that told me about it first. Says this started by this guy (Chuck?) going around Napa Valley buying up the leftovers from the vineyards. They have to clean out their storage equipment and get ready for the next years' crop. I think he blends it together and rebottles it under his own name. neat idea. Kinda think that was what was going on in the hills of Tennesee years ago with Bourbon and whiskey.

Rob's doin' pretty good. Since he movedve his office Southeast 25 miles, and I moved out to Brighton from Farmington (20 miles NW), we don't see each other too much. Used to be only 5 miles apart.

He's got the pumpkin car running sweeter than ever with a fresh rebuild and a slightly different cam. Think he's in the mid 11's now. Not bad for a 9:1 street car.

May have to bring him out of retirement next fall and shoe the tripower car if these pesky 69 Hursts keep getting more stocker and quicker and quicker. I can always use the 100# less weight! :spank:

Took 4 years to get the keys back last time with the Ramrod!

Just a reminder that I am still out here! Givin' you time to get ready for the onslaught of H/O's set for this next year. I know of at least 5 or 6 '69 H/O's making the scene. And if Noel gets it in gear, at least one '68. We may have to sub catagorize the H/O's so everyone knows who to pick on and who to stay away from. Bad H/O, Mean H/O, Dirty H/O, Easy H/O..... all pitting in the 'Red Light' district. :Dou:

    Dave H.,

    Quit licking your chops!! :puzzled:
