i plan on running a 69 turbo 350 behind my 455.im assuming that a chevy converter is different than a buick one?you see all the chevy converters in books and i was just wondering.

The converters are all the same. As long as its a converter for a 350/400 Tubo Hydramatic. I run a TCI 10" converter in my 71. Its been in there for 10 years and hasnt broke yet!

Buick motors make more torque at low RPM, then chevy motors. The converters will all fit, but may stall differently behind a healthy BBB. Call the converter company, and tell them as much as you can about your buildup. They can help you make the right choice.

One thing to watch for, the chevy converters use a mounting ear that uses a nut and bolt arrangement, the Buicks use a bolt pad that uses only a bolt. The ears on the chevy converter may interfere with the balance weight on the 455 Buick flexplate. Just food for thought. Jim Burek
