Can anyone help me with this? I have aquired aluminum heads and an aluminum intake for my 67 300, but in oreder to install them correctly I will need the proper bolt torque specs. Anyone know where I can fin 'em? I'd hate to over/under torque something and ruin them/it.
    Thanks a bunch!

The '64 chassis service manual states 65-70 Ft. Lbs. for cylinder head to block torque.

Since the '64 only came with Aluminum heads, this should be your number. You might consider purchasing one of the chassis service manuals. I got mine (a reprint) from http://www.oldbuickparts.com - cost around $35.

According to NHRA Specs, the combustion chambers are 54.9cc on the '67 heads & 50.1cc on the '64 heads. However, the intake valves are smaller ('64 valves are 1.6" & the '67 are 1.8").

If you aren't going to rebuild it, using aluminum heads will be a small boost in compression ratio (instead of 9:1 it will be 9.75:1). If you do rebuild, you could switch to 10.25:1 pistons using the cast iron heads for 10.25:1 & keep your bigger intake valves.

Or use 10.25:1 pistons with the aluminum heads, this combo will yeild 11:1 but then you might ping.

Another consideration, the stock head gaskets were thin metal & if you use a modern felpro set knock off a few tenths compression ratio for that as well.

Someone can correct me here if I'm wrong.

    Wow...thanks:TU:

That's pretty much all the info I might need. I am not planning a full rebuild, but I thought I could get thesenheads cleaned up nice and have a somewhat rare, trick little non-option thing going.
I'll grab one of those 64 chassis service manuals...great idea I never thought of that. I have one for the 67 though.

Does that manual state aluminum intake to block specs or no? Thanks for the bonus compression info!

Sorry - I should have known you'd need that too:)

    Intake 25-35
Rocker Arm to Head - 25-35
