I try to adjust my timing and see what is the total timing to set my initial but the whit mark dont move so it think my mechanical timing not work ??
I try to change the spring and put two light-tension springs but nothing when I rev my engine the timing is not move ? It only move when it put the vacuum
maybe I dont all the thing rightmy initial is set at 16 and my engine rev good, if I put 10-13 I have detonation from the exhaust. thanks larry for your Power Timing your Buick V8 very nice thread its was a very nice thread ( I have read about 10 time because my english is not perfect ) :TU:
Thank You, I tried to make it as comprehensive, and simple as I could. The Mr. Gasket springs are not ideal. The Crane adjustable vacuum advance kit is much better. Look at the thread, it mentions the part # for the kit.
Remove the hose from the vac advance. Plug the hose. Raise the RPM to about 3000 rpm and swet the dist abount 1 ince past the 0 timing mark.. Ed
