ok timing is down pretty good. I have a brand new problem though and could use some hints as to what it may be. I put in a big cam, not huge but the biggest i could while still maintaining all stock components in the heads. My problem is shifting, its a gm aftermarket converter and the trans shift into p-r-n-d-d1 fine but once in drive it will stay only in first.. Triple checked my fluid level its perfect. The only way i can get it to shift is to go 17 or so mph, then shift it into nuetral rev a little higher then back into drive ...its this gracefull bump that causes it to shift into 2nd moments later. The same trick does not work to try and pu the car into 3rd gear. Its a 72 464 moderate cam, unknown typ converter ( not stock), a gm th400 three speed auto. Do i have a combo problem , a linkage problem, or trans problem? All input welcome! thaks -Al
