i know this particurlay doesnt pertain to buick but i recenty bought a toyota 4x4 pickup and seems like my headgasket has a slight leak so i'm thinking about dropping in a buick engine along with a th350, my question is is there a gm transfer case that will work with a buick engine and 4x4 th350 tranny?..if not i'll either have to get a transfer case from a manual toy w/ a advance adapter plate or a transfercase off a jeep w/ a novak adapter...i'm just trying to find the easiest way..a list of gm donar trucks would be awsome...thanks guys
k i believe i fugured the swap out.. buick 3.8 v6 buick to chevy th350 bellhousing adapter by tci chevy 4x4 th350 toyota manual xfer case th350 to toyota xfer case adapter by advance adapter now time to call the junkyards :-D so maybe i'll have a toyota pu w/ buick spirit ..depending on the year buick engine i might have to fuel inject it by the means of a holly 4bbl to throttle body adapter + ecm stuff off chevy 4.3...or get luccky and find one out of a front wheel drive model that still has the rwd mounts
There are a couple 89-94 Toyota pickups around here that have 350 Chevy motors in them and I know they had to cut inner fenders out to be able to use the headers.I believe that a 350 block may be a bit wide for the engine bay,but it might not.Another problem may be the motor mounts,I know there is a place that sells the conversion kits for the chevy install, but I can't remember it offhand, maybe a little looking into it and you may see if they offer other motor kits.I am not trying to push the Chevy as I think if you cant get a 350 in it...A v-6 would be cool as well, especially a turbo'd one. i kind of want to drop in the buick 350 from my skylark in so i have an excuse to put a 455 in the skylarks place lol, but doubt they make a buick 350 adapter to toyota xfer case....so i'll just be going with the buick 3.8 and i wont have to worry about it overheating cause it'll have more room to breath in the bay unlike the 350..
actually just get the adaptr for 350trans to toyota and have a local trans shop put a 4x4 output shaft in a bop350 trans case i think adavance adapters has motor mount kit for it too(v6)v6 mount will hold a buick 350 . could try s-10 transfer case but would need custon driveshafts. andy
