I was informed all x-members are the same wether it be for a 350 or 455.. I swapped in a 455 n added the MT Scavenger headers while using my original x-member. Turns out the humps for the x-member were too narrow n I had to pound the humps a bit wider to fit the headers...Anyone else with the same issue?? My vin starts with 4333------ indicates it was a 6 cylinder car. Would this original x-member be the same as a 350 or 455 car?? Thanks Denis
My understanding is that the difference was based on transmission type. Turbo 350 and turbo 400 crossmembers fit same and will interchange, but there was a difference in the placement of a hole to hold a hanger for the e-brake cable. I believe the manual trans crossmembers may have been different. Was the 6 cyl car a manual trans car? I have not had any trouble with headers in our skylarks. 350 or 455, with any brand headers.
i am looking for a crossmember WITH the hole. big block cars had the hole small block cars did not . i like the hole not the pole ,hehe o No:
collin, don't have the correct convertible one. Dean, haven't looked yet, but will this weekend to see if I have any with a hole. I will have to see if i can find a picture of where the hole is.

It'll be on the back side of the drivers side hump. George has some pics on his site at http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/transxmbrs.htm
