I was told by the tech guy over the weekend that I need a transmission shield to run quicker than 11.00. Which shields are you guys running on your cars? I have a 1972 GS with factory floor, so I'm not sure how much room I have. Thank you. Tom Jenkins
I'm using a "blanket" type. I think its made by G-Force and I bought it from Summit. Watch for binding up the shift cable. And,. I'm not using the lower flywheel cover so I poked some heavy wire through the "blanked" in two places and wired the blanket to the unused holes for the cover. I don't trust the blanket belts to keep it from sliding back into the spinning yoke. Jim P
Any issues with a blanket type for street driving? Hugger - SFI Bell will satisfy the flexplate shield requirement, but I don't think it will pass the transmission requirement. I was told I need a tranny shield at 10.90, and a flexplate shield is needed at 9.99....which my heavy car will probably never see.
Seems kinda backwards, id want a ultrabell b4 I worried about needin a blanket or case shield, our tracks down here only make sure we paid our $7 to run, to hell with everything else ha, but if thats what the track wants whats a guy gonna do
Tom, I used this one on the recommendation from Jim W. It's tight but will cover everything.. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...10002&langId=-1&productId=56892&storeId=10001
We ran the CSR on our car as well. Going to an SFI case now. If someone is looking for a CSR shield I will be selling the one we have.
Hey Tom let me verify it's condition. It's at my brothers house along with the rest if the car. I'm thinking $200?
I believe it's 5 years for these. But it's not like they are gonna crawl around and look for the tag.
I have no idea. They won't recert a modified shield. It's next to impossible to get cooler lines on without trimming.
