RECIPE AT BOTTOM (PRINT AND SAVE)

Subject: NEIMAN MARCUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (THE BEST)
    >
    >Print for yourself and forward it on !!!!!
    >
    >A little background: Neiman-Marcus, if you don't know already, is a very
    >expensive store: i.e.; they sell your typical $8.00 T-shirt for $50.00.
    >
    >Let's let them have it!
    >
    >THIS IS A TRUE STORY
    >
    >My daughter and I had just finished a salad at a Neiman-Marcus Cafe in
    >Dallas, and we decided to have a small dessert. Because both of us are such
    >cookie lovers, we decided to try the "Neiman-Marcus cookie. It was so
    >excellent that I asked if they would give me the recipe, and the waitress
    >said with a small frown, "I'm afraid not, but you can buy the recipe."
    >Well, I asked how much, and she responded, "Only two fifty . It's a great
    >deal!" I agreed to that, and told her to just add it to my tab.
    >
    >Thirty days later, I received my VISA statement, and the Neiman-Marcus
    >charge was $285.00 :jd: ! I looked at it again, and I remembered I had only spent
    >$9.95 for two salads and about $20.00 for a scarf. As I glanced at the
    >bottom of the statement, it said, "Cookie Recipe-$250.00". That was
    >outrageous... :af: ! I called Neiman's Accounting Department and told them the
    >waitress said it was "two fifty", which clearly does not mean "two hundred
    >and fifty dollars" by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase.
    >Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. They would not refund my money because,
    >according to them, "What the waitress told you is not our problem. You have
    >already seen the recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money at this
    >point." I explained to the Accounting Department lady the criminal
    >statutes, which govern fraud in the state of Texas. I threatened to report
    >them to the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's office
    >for engaging in fraud. I was basically told, "Do what you want. Don't
    >bother thinking of how you can get even, and don't bother trying to get any
    >of your money back."
    >
    >I just said, okay, you folks got my $250, and now I'm going to have $250
    >worth of fun." I told her that I was going to see to it that every cookie
    >lover in the United States with an e-mail account has a $250 cookie recipe
    >from Neiman-Marcus...for free. She replied, "I wish you wouldn't do this."
    >I said, "Well, perhaps you should have thought of that before you ripped me
    >off!" and slammed down the phone. So here it is! Please, please, please
    >pass it on to everyone you can possibly think of. I paid $250 for this, and
    >I don't want Neiman-Marcus to EVER make another penny off of this recipe!

You guy's are unbelieveable i never knew that it was a Urban Legend :Dou: .

This computer age is incredible and the things you can find out on the computer is mind blowing. As you can tell i don't wander the web other than V-8 Board and Ebay. Time to do some more surfing i guess.
    Happy Holidays.

    the actual cookies......Just in case.

An urban myth is a modern folk tale, its origins unknown, its believability enhanced
simply by the frequency with which it is repeated. Our signature chocolate chip cookie
is the subject of one such myth. If you haven't heard the story, we won't perpetuate it
here. If you have, the recipe below should serve to refute it. Copy it, print it out, pass it along to friends and family. It's a terrific recipe. And it's absolutely free.

    Ingredients

    # 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
    # 1 cup light brown sugar
    # 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
    # 1 large egg
    # 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    # 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
    # 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    # 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    # 1/2 teaspoon salt
    # 1-1/2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
    # 1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream the butter with the sugars using an electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy (approximately 30 seconds)

    2. Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract for another 30 seconds.

    3. In a mixing bowl, sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the butter mixture at low speed for about 15 seconds. Stir in the espresso coffee powder and chocolate chips.

    4. Using a 1 ounce scoop or a 2 tablespoon measure, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Gently press down on the dough with the back of a spoon to spread out into a 2 inch circle. Bake for about 20 minutes or until nicely browned around the edges. Bake a little longer for a crispier cookie.

    Yield: 2 dozen cookies

Total Myth, in fact a good measure of factual emails: If it starts off with "TRUE STORY!!!" It isn't.

Has anyone ever read the Choking Doberman, or Vanishing Hitchhiker? Before the web was popular, a few books of these urban myths were put together - very interesting and entertaining.

Your local library should have them, and you'll recognize a lot of the tales inside.

Here's one of my favorite Christmas Cookie Recipes! :TU:

    Enjoy! :bglasses:

    Christmas Cookie Ingredients:

    1 cup of water
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 cup of sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup of brown sugar
    lemon juice
    4 large eggs
    1 cup nuts
    2 cups of dried fruit
    1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality. :Brow:

Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the
highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. :TU:

Turn on the electric mixer...Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy
    bowl. :puzzled:

Add one teaspoon of sugar...Beat again.

At this point it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still OK, try another
    cup, just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and
chuck in the cup of dried fruit, Pick the frigging fruit off the f! loor...
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just
pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the Cuervo to check for
    tonsisticity.

Next, sift two cups of salt, or something. :Do No: Who giveshz a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add
one table._ Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.
    Greash the oven.

Turn the cookie sheet 360 degrees and try not to fall over.
Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the dishwasher.

    CHERRY MISTMAS! :bglasses:
