On 69 Skylark, when I close the trunk lid the latch bangs against the square striker. It does close, but makes a loud clanking noise. I noticed that there are 2 bolts holding the latch to the lid. Is the latch adjustable side to side at all?

I dont remember which one does what, (striker and latch) but one is adjustable up and down, and the other left to right

Does adjusting this latch affect the trunk lid height at all, or is that done at the hinges?

When I adjusted mine I found the marks from the bolts and went from there. The catch (in the trunk lid) moves up and down. The other part moves left and right. It takes awhile, but eventually it'll sit right. You just have to keep working it. You'll know when it's right when the lines of the car look right. If this helps great... I don't know how much of a difference there is between yours and a '63....

Adjusting the latch will affect the height. I think that the hinges will move the lid back and forth.

OK, I figured out how to adjust the height of the lid and also moved the square striker to the left and it does not bang anymore. However, I did notice that the left corner by the bumper is higher than the right corner, and it stays the same at whatever height the lid closes. How do you adjust it so that the right corner is a little higher and the left corner a little lower?
