Trunk paint (spatered) : which color is correct for 68 ?

Hi , going to have my trunk painted pretty soon and I'm looking for original look .

I'd like to know which spatered paint color is correct for my 68 Skylark ?

Is it only available in spray ? Or it could be shoot by gun ?

    thank you

Is your car a Canadian built car? Ask Bryan W. of Bryan&PhyllisW-- he has a '68 Skylark Custom with 29,000 miles.

the spatter paint that u buy in a rattle can is water based and goes on rather thick.
I have a friend with a '68 gs400 and I believe that the trunk is black/aqua spatter. the car is original.
I believe that it would be easier for u just to buy a couple of rattle cans. and a can of clearcoat.

a company called zolatone makes a spatter paint by the quart. see the link below.

That spray can stuff , even the GM is nothing like original , the pattern is wrong and its to ruff .
Maybe give the stuff from tower paint a try .

What I done on mine was used the Duplicolor bedliner spray cans took 4 cans, then I mixed sum auqa base off my mixing machine, sprayed with paint gun on very low psi just so the paint spit out , looks 100% perfect and the bedliner base is very tough, could put a lite coag of urethane clear over it to even further seal it up, was hesitant to share this info but all in the name of makin our cars better than the other guys

The Zolotone stuff is the closest to Original. I got it from Ames Pontiac. They will not ship it in the cold weather as it is water based and will be ruined.

My bodyshop is able to have some gray - green or black paint . I tend to choose the black one (with white dot) .

It would be fun to see a picture to see how it will look

By the way is it SPATER or SPLATER ????

    Here's my "before" pic :
