hi, i just bought a 66 lesabre 4 dr ht. getting ready to do a lot of work to it, mostly adding accessories. i'd like to add the option of a power trunk release, by means of an actuator, but there doesnt seem to be any sort of trunk release for me to work with. the only way i can open the trunk is with the key. is there anything i can do, other than replacing the lock mechanism with one that has a cable release? let me know, thanks.
On my '68 Riviera the boot release was vacuum operated. Maybe you should check with a scrap yard with older Buicks :TU:
I believe you can keep your old set-up. The vacuum solenoid fit behind your original lock, connected with a steel rod. Can't be that difficult to find one in a scrap yard? I have seen them quite frequently on E-bay. Check the fisher body manual for your year and see how they mounted the lock release. Usually the lock releases were used across many car lines.
