    Hello
I'm in the process of restoring my 67 Skylark convertible. I have the front clip 60% removed, and am about to yank the engine to give it a fresh set of gaskets. I was told it was a 350 when I bought the car, and then I found an old "for sale" sign under the seats when I tore them out that says it's a "327"?? I could believe the 350, but I've never heard of a Buick 327. I assume that no-one really knew except the guy who swapped motors ages ago. And maybe he didn't even know!
The intake says 300 on the back just like 2 of my other cars, but I assume the 300 intake will fit most small blocks of that era. It's obviously a Buick small block, and looks just like my other 300's.
Anyways....maybe I should stop rambling and get to my questions... :Dou:
Where do I find the numbers on the block that I need to research?
And where is a good source for info as to what the numbers mean?

Thanks in advance for your help!
    Rick

Is it even a Buick engine? If you had a picture we could tell you pretty quick. There are numbers stamped on the intake manifold that will tell you AT LEAST what year the manifold is.

Buick did not make a 327...and I don't think the 350 was available in 67. But you say the motor was swapped some time back...so it could be anything!:Do No:

I'm sure it's a Buick small block, I just don't know where to find the codes on it to verify exactly what it is.

    What color is it?

Is the distributor in the front or back?

The distributer is in the front....and the engine is an unpleasent mix of grease, grime, and rust colored. (Hence the new gaskets soon)
