    HELP!
    I am trying to decode the #'s on the Left front hinge pillar on my car it goes like this: 46237 54141090........I tried to look it up but it does not make sense to me. The way I read it it says that I have a LaSabre Custom?:confused: On the plate on the fire wall says the following:
    051 BW1178 BODY
    65-46237 DDA PAINT
    401
    171
    Can anyone help me with this?:(

    4 62 37 5 4 141090

    4 = Buick

    62 = Wildcat (DeLuxe = 64, Custom = 66)

    37 = 2 drs HT coupe

    5 = Modelyear 1965

    4 = should identify the assembly plant, are you sure it's not a H ?

    141090 = production number for that plant, starting with 100 001

    Just 2 minutes Ted :beer

    But good to read you also wonder about the 4 being a H

    I was about to decode the Body Number Plate as well, so you would have been quicker in that case.
    But it's not a race, it's all about helping other people out :TU: :TU:

    051
    BW1178 BODY Fisher Body Number
    65-46237 The Year and Model again
    DDA PAINT Paint. Not sure which color "D" is...
    401 Mystery #s

    171 Interior trim indicates color and style.

    Thanks Erik!

    D = Astro Blue and A = Regal Black

    I think trim code is 401 = Blue vinyl or cloth

    So # 171 is the mystery number......:confused:

    (Edit: Just found # 171 being a 1965 Skylark trim code for Blue vinyl)
