Trying to help a fellow Buick guy

Hi, I just bought a bench seat from a fellow Buick owner and actually found someone who knows less about Buicks than I do!

Here's whats going on, Steve bought a 67 Buick hardtop to use as a donor car for quarter panels for his wrecked 66 Skylark convertiable. His car is really smashed from just in front of the rear tire all the way back to just before the rear fender extension. Even the trunk lid is buckled. I'm also afraid that either the axle is bent, or the suspension was tweaked, or worse yet, the frame is bent.

Anyway, I told him about this forum. But one question he/I have is will the 67 quarter panels from a hardtop fit a 66 convertiable? I think I read somewhere that convertiables were different from all the rest??

Also will a door from the 67 coupe fit on the 66 convertiable?

Hopefully the pictures will load, as he is interested in selling off the parts/pieces he isn't going to use. The hood/trunk are totally toast, floors up front are rusted out, and the sail panels have rust.

Engine is a stock (is there any other kind) 300 automatic that appears to be in bad shape.

Plenty of trim pieces and a pair of fender skirts are with the car.

Any help on the body panel match will be passed to Steve.

    Thanks

You might try a different subject line, something like
"Will '66 doors and quarterpanels fit a '67?"

Sorry I can't give you the answer, but you can certainly get an answer here on this board!

Just saw this. Us 66-67 guys get no respect sometimes. As far as I know, The quarters are different above the top body line around the sail panel and between the body line and the trunk. At least that's what I've read. As for the door, I believe the door is the same but the glass is not but again I've never had the two to compare.

It sounds like he has both cars right? The best he could do is compare them and take measurements. Then he could let us all know for sure.
