im running a 69 455 thats been punched .30 over. currently im using an edelbrock aluminum intake with a 850 carb.... does anyone have any info or help with finding a dual carb high-rise that i could use on this. im looking of like the old tri fives, i was told something about an adaptor plate for the 455's that would enable to use mopar tunnel rams.

Stage 4's with port matched SP2 intake. Nothing too fancy. :TU:

Charlie Evans made adaptors before moving to fords. He might have some leftover. The tunnel ram pictured here for sale is a M1 mopar. There are two types of plates, B block 383/400 fits the standard port location while the RB type fits raised port heads suchas stage3.

Yes I think Charlie still has adaptors. We used them to run a Chrysler STR 2x4s on a Buick. But on the dyno we never saw much improvement over the old 1969 Offy 2x4 intake that I had been using (and still do). I run NMCA Nostalgia Super Stock and some places (other than NMCA) we have to run 2x4s so I was hunting for a better intake as everyone said the Offy was junk. But after lots of trial and error and testing I 've settled on the Offy. When I was running iron Stage 1 heads I ran 2 750 AFBs and even tried 800s which ran the same. After switching to Stage 2 TA SE heads it had a slight stumble with the 750s and 800s so I went to 600 AFBs and have went the quickest and fastest with them. By our rules I can only run AFBs or 1 Quadrajet unless I can run 9.75 or quicker in the 1/4. I'm wanting to step up to more engine and run Charlie's adaptors and a Indy Cylinder Head inline 2x4 intake and 2 Quick Fuel carburetors which will be legal if I can run 9.75. Main problem with stepping up is the expense of safety clothing and license and car cert. I hate to mess with a combo that has won me 2 Championships and several races.
